Monona EDGE – Economic Development, Government, & Education 

Join MESBA members and local officials as we enjoy a coffee and discuss current and future developments in and around Monona. 

2025 Quarter 4 – Monona EDGE

We were joined by several local officials and community leaders for an informative session. Neil Stechschulte shared updates on Monona’s Capital Improvement Plan, approved by Council the night before, and spoke about ways we can support our local food pantries following the suspension of SNAP benefits.

We also heard from Mayor Nancy Moore, City Planner Doug Plowman, and Chandler Denhart from Congressman Pocan’s office, who provided valuable national insights. Monona Grove Superintendent Tanya Fredrich shared important updates on school funding and enrollment within our district.

2024 Quarter 4 – Monona EDGE

We’ll begin with updates with Monona Mayor, Mary O’Connor and Monona City Planner, Doug Plowman.

With Monona Sustainability Committee, Kristin Gunther will be sharing updates on the Winter Salt Reduction program, with home and business tips for keeping winter salt out of our waterways.

This month we are honored to have Kathy Kuntz from the Dane County office of Energy and Climate come to speak to us about all the funding available for green building, repairs, and energy programs through the Inflation Reduction Act. 

And Kate Miller from Mission: Workforce Alliance will speak about their program connecting skilled veterans returning to the workforce with businesses looking for qualified candidates.
